It depends what the circumstances were, MF. If they were the same as they are now, I would probably be a permie. (In fact I have applied for a permie role because it's with an organisation I really believe in.)

Other than that, if I knew I would succeed, I'd paint full-time.

      Do you paint properly Lucy?

I mean, the bits behind radiators and the like?

on purley a money basis, its very difficult for me to get anything started because the money is just so good doing what I'm doing in IT and anything I have started in the past or want to in the futire makes me think...whats the point, I guess getting into property early was good, but I've had my own business, which has grown and is still very good, but it just does not bring in the same amount of money as the contract work I'm doing now.

Didn't have the money round to buy a Nuclear Bomb
Been around and seen a lot to shake me anyhow
Begged and borrowed sometimes I admit I even stole
The worse crime that I ever did was play some rock 'n roll.

            But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself
            But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself

Suffering convictions on a two-way stretch inside
The air in here is pretty thin, I think I'll go outside
Committed for insanity and crimes against the soul

Just get a grip on yourself

            And you should know

Now I find from week to week the sentence sticking fast
Turn the corner, rub my eyes and hope the world will last
Stranger from another planet welcome to our hole
Just strap on your guitar and we'll play some rock 'n roll

Before contracting I was a pro musician and very shortly I'll be going back to that and giving up IT completely. Not so much live gigging although there will be some of that, but I'm getting more work writing for TV & film (and corporate vids).

Never been a pro-musician, but if I wasn't in IT that's probably where I'd be directing my energies. Been in a number of amateur bands and such, and kind of miss that travelling lifestyle in a way. Didn't enjoy the fact that I had feck all money though...

It was a lot of fun but I did manage to make a living. I miss the tours but I don't think I would have the energy anymore.
