I rather like Priti Patel.
If my bread were buttered on the other side, I think I probably would.Comment

I think she was set up. A case of "if you get caught you're on your own" and then she was well and truly dropped in it.
It's a case of who knew what and when. This is all part of something bigger....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

Given her brief, her political beliefs, the fact that she had 12 meetings with the most senior Israelis, including their PM, and the fact that they made sure she had a cover story of visiting a Syrian refugee hospital, I reckon it was an attempt by her (or maybe as you say someone higher up) to divert money from the foreign aid budget to the Israeli army.Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostI think she was set up. I partially disagree. Having spoken to a family member who lived in Israel for 20 years, it wouldn't have been the army. It was probably humanitarian to some extent but there would in all likelihood have been some quid pro quo. It is politics after all.Originally posted by sasguru View PostGiven her brief, her political beliefs, the fact that she had 12 meetings with the most senior Israelis, including their PM, and the fact that they made sure she had a cover story of visiting a Syrian refugee hospital, I reckon it was an attempt by her (or maybe as you say someone higher up) to divert money from the foreign aid budget to the Israeli army....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
