I wonder which group will fare worse when the easy 100k p.a. contracting income dries up.

There will be a contraction of the market for those confined to the UK, without the skills to move elsewhere.
More contractors chasing fewer contracts means the cleverer ones will displace the thickos.
      Hard Brexit now!

Assumption 1: Everyone posting on CuK is a contractor
Assumption 2: That Brexit will not require IT transformation projects
Assumption 3: That the supposed high earners are seeking UK employment (SAS etc always say he's outta here soon cake & eat it?)
Assumption 4: There is no IT skills shortage in the UK, which could worsen, leading to higher rates

did you mean the ability to walk, catch a plane etc, or should you have used the word 'means' instead of skills?

I wonder if that mistake makes you one of the cleverer ones or not?

True, most are permie bottom-feeders, students, the unemployed or living with their mum.
This forum long ago ceased to be a successful "contractors" forum.

Indeed there will need to to be some specialised work done

I run my consulting business from home. My location (within an hour or two of GMT) is irrelevant. But looking to move elsewhere next year.

More Indians will be imported as part of our Glorious post-Brexit deal with India.
But anyway, there will be less work in the medium/long term and less demand.

No I meant skills. Almost everyone has the means to move elsewhere, few have the in-demand skills to make a success of it.
It's not that hard to understand - but maybe when you get your A-levels and leave your mum's house you'll begin to get it.

I'd say you are vastly mistaken about everyone having the means, but then again - you always believe you're right so there's no point

Just out of interest, which skills are solely demanded by the EU and not (a brexited) UK, thus confining people to work in the UK?
There was me thinking skills had no borders

Thanks for the unsubstantiated, unevidenced, unfactual ad-hominem - does make me

Interesting choice of groups, but you missed off a few categories - including the one for yourself

Glad you agree, now just extrapolate that, thinking of possible new markets and systems to service those.....

Well without some kind of deal, you won't be supplying services into the UK after that will you?, genius

Offshore is already a factor and where the false economy of cheap offshore is proven, those clients will be less likely to have onshore from the same providers....

It's amazing how you can see the future of every single business, of every single type in the whole of the UK - and you know all their IT system programs etc etc, even before the final negotiations are over - wow, such humility, such ego, such a
