And me - I was referring to the free kick that led to it.

The pen wasn't that bad - it was near the post. But it was what is called a "nice height" for the keeper.

Ah, didn't see the free kick incident so can't comment.

Nice height and could have done with being a bit harder.
I'm from the old-school 'mile long run up and toe-end it so hard it takes the keeper into the back of the net with it' myself. But football was a bit less subtle in my day.

        Are you Stuart Pearce?

He "missed" that pen against Germany because he hit it too hard - the keeper was diving out of the way but it hit his trailing foot.

Yes I am. They don't come more unsubtle than 'Psycho'.
By the way, didn't I then go on to score a very important penalty for England with the same technique?

"BTW Why shouldn't it have been given - just cause the biased twats on ITV said so? Tackle from behind, miss the ball contact with the player. Stone cold free kick."

Why, because Vidic didn't touch him. The Celtic players 'fall' was somewhat after the event - not even a very good attempt. As I said a great free kick (better than the one he scored in the first leg) but it shouldn't have been given. Also, had it been Ronaldo falling like that to get the free kick, then you would not have heard any complaints from me. What goes around etc

As for Saha, he had a mare. I have the feeling that a number of times, had he been van Nistleroy, then we would have scored. Saha is not a goal poacher in the same was RVN was. Fair play to Celtic though, they beat us fair and square - with a bit of help from the 12th man. i.e. the crowd - not the ref!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

Yes, against Spain at Euro 96, although I thought you hammered it into the corner that time. The test match at Lords virtually stopped during the shoot-out.

I seem to recall The Sun's front-page picture next day was you snarling and wearing a Tommy helmet - England's next opponents were the Germans.

It was their day in the sun, but I know which of the two clubs is most likely to be there at the business end of the tournament.

                    Yawn.

This thread is boring, so I won't take part in it.

It's got nothing to do with you anyway.
