The interesting points on the scheme are these:
The zone covers all of greater London, that's every street within the M25.
The zone will be monitored by hundreds if not thousands of CCTV cameras.
Every motorist (inc your car) will be scanned.
Your registration number will be looked up and whether you need to pay assesed automatically by computers (in India).
How much effort is it to extend the charge to cover all cars?
Practically none.
It is a large scale "tax the motorist" hidden as "tax the dirty lorry".

Well, except the equipment they have doesn't work properly, the error ratio is too high, thanks to an outstanding procurement f up.Originally posted by DimPrawnHow much effort is it to extend the charge to cover all cars?

MailmanThe court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

Well, it is my money until it is stolen via taxation.
What is the BBC's 'real duty' if you don't mind me asking? They must have one of the most confused charters I have ever seen. They are meant to do things that commercial broadcasters don't do, but clearly they don't. They are a mass broadcaster including comedy, drama, soap etc. The BBC is the only example of it's kind in the world.
It should be a pay tv service because why should people be forced to pay for something if they don't want it.
And don't get me started on the BBC radio services !Comment

If the BBC didn't exist I doubt I'd bother having a TV. Just look at ITV, can you think of one programme worth watching?Originally posted by LucyWell, it is my money until it is stolen via taxation.
