Unusual to ban what they could tax. The price to pay for protecting the banksters I suppose.
Will just drive it underground and the rise of distributed exchanges will mean any nation's attempt to control it will be futile. Bring it on.
The winner in the crypto marketspace will be the one with least friction from government meddling with a high transactibility with minimum hassle, solid security from theft, impossible to lose (biometric/DNA secured wallet or some such improvement to the current crappy wallet implementations), stable value sound money.
The 'coin' to do all that well will become ubiquitous and dominate the market, unless the VHS (ripple etc) out plays Betamax again and we get what 'they' want you to have rather than what we need.
Currently Bitcoin is king. Any other genuine contenders and not just the usual pretenders?Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.Comment

Only lasted a few days but looks like the Ethereum PoWH3D clone wars are coming to an end; ETH flowing out of the clone games, PoWH3D limping along wounded. There's reports of the same devs creating multiple clones with different names - pre buying ETH in each of these smart contracts before releasing details, getting a quick large pump then dumping in hours.
Also 'Power of Bubble' did a pure exit scam this morning. They had a web site and associated smart contract with an ETH deposit and countdown timer, tricking punters into depositing early in the belief they would get in 'at the top' of the PoBubble pyramid when the smart contract was released at zero. Bubble's master stroke was to NOT release the smart contract source code .. punters obviously saw the contract on the blockchain and took a chance.
Bubble exit scammed immediately after countdown zero taking approx 221 ETH ($117k) .. not bad for a few hour's work !
Unfortunately there's huge quick money to be made in the crypto by clever scamming, fleecing, tricking and conning naive 'investors' !Last edited by SunnyInHades; 8 April 2018, 17:52.Comment

Rockefellers Join Soros & Rothschilds In Cryptocurrency Investment Plans
Soros's involvement followed reports last year that the Rothschild family had waded into the space - first by purchasing bitcoin exposure via the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.
Their involvement is a sign that regulators around the world might be relaxing their stance toward crypto, as one prominent crypto entrepreneur and investors pointed outVenrock, the official venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family, has partnered with crypto investment group Coinfund to support cryptocurrency and Blockchain business innovation, Fortune reported April 6."Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."- Elon MuskComment

Until April 17th, according to PBC, the market will remain sluggish until US tax returns are finished.
It seems buying and owning BTC is about to become a lot easier in the months ahead for funds and financial instruments, whatever that means.Last edited by scooterscot; 9 April 2018, 13:46."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".
