Brexit DOOM™: UK and EU heading for economic cold war, says Italian minister

"A senior Italian official has warned that the UK and the European Union are heading into an “economic cold war” over Brexit that could wreak havoc on the west and weaken the continent.

Mario Giro, Italy’s deputy foreign minister, said that while many countries in the EU had said the UK’s vote to leave the EU represented a loss to the union, there were more hardliners in the EU against the UK than it appeared.

“When we are among the 27 [countries within the EU, not including the UK], the hardliners are more numerous than it appears. I cannot quote a country in particular at the moment. We will see it at the beginning of the negotiation,” Giro said in an interview with the Guardian."

Don't worry, it's only an Italian minister. Given that their governments change like the seasons, he'll be long gone by the time any serious negotiation takes place.

Can always just print some more. Countries in control of their own currency never run out. They just inflate the debt away.

I like have inflating debt away is akin to inflating our problems away. If only!
