yay - other girls!!! Lucy - do you have thesame problem? All I've had all week are accusations about being a bloke! They're so paranoid - like we're infiltrating their camp or something!

What interesting man facts could they give us that we dont know already anyway!

So do you really recognise one of them?

        Hello !

I don't know, I think it's a good idea to ignore the mean ones.

        Hmm, man-facts, oxymoron surely...

Yes, I do, I worked with him.

Good luck with your search btw, I was looking until recently and completely understand your feelings, but then, before you know it one just appears ! The agent had my cv for over a month this role before I got the interview. Today was my second day and all is going well. Haven't met any nutters yet.

Ooh - which one do you recognise then? And is he fit? (You can mail privately if you dont want to say!) (Even if you dont mail, its good to keep them all guessing)

What kind of work do you do then? Well done for finding something - first weeks are always strange aren't they?! How long were you off for?

I will PM you, no, I don't think he is very fit, but very quiet at work !

I do PMO, I did some DBA training a while ago, but I found it a bit dull and political - ppl getting upset when you refuse their 19th fix etc.

I was off for a couple of months, the first part was okay, I did a course at Chelsea Art School that I've wanted to do for ages, but, as my previous contract was my first (and it ended badly), I did start to worry.

First week seems okay, people are really nice.

Yeah he's probably quiet cause he spends all his time posting on here rather than talking to real people

              Is PMO Programe/Project Management?

I've toyed with the idea of getting into DBA, but Development is so much more fun - I love my job (sad), its like solving puzzles all day! (again, sad!)

Ah its nice that you got something out of your time off, but yeah I guess you must've started to worry. I'm on to my 7th contract now (been doing it about 4 years or so), and I STILL freak out in between gigs. I think I probably always will - its human nature.
My lad was a bit like you though, he finished his first contract and was then off for about 5 months! He was a mess man!

Anyway, I'm pleased you've found something now - its gets much easier from your second gig onwards.

If you're from the Sheffield area then I think I know who you might be too. But then again you might not. Just a hunch...

Hmmm. Let's start again. I once met a contractor when I worked in the midlands who was from Sheffield who was also called Lucy. The Lucy on this board reminds me of her somehow. I don't know if they are the same people, it's just a hunch.
