The main issue for me is that these people are clearly simply ignoring British constitutional law.

I also agree about the requirement for English to be the language used - is is the language of the UK and so should be used at all official functions - if that is a problem for people then learn it or shut up.

Having said that Eric Pickles has a history of being an idiot.

Spot on with all points, especially Pickles.

Reducing the reasons for postal votes would be very good. People really should be arsed to trek to the polling station every now and again. These are the reasons in Ireland:

You will normally be required to vote in person at an official voting centre but you may be eligible for a postal vote if you are:

An Irish diplomat or his/her spouse posted abroad
A member of the Garda Síochána
A whole-time member of the Defence Forces.
You may also be eligible for a postal vote if you cannot go to a polling station because:

Of a physical illness or disability
You are studying full time at an educational institution in Ireland, which is away from your home address where you are registered
You are unable to vote at your polling station because of your occupation
You are unable to vote at your polling station because you are in prison as a result of an order of a court.
Passport or driving licence would unreasonably exclude people who have neither.

I wonder how it will all pan out? Theoretically, if they're all found guilty then they must forfeit their seats and as the government only had a majority of 12 then Labour would be in charge and anything that has happened since the election should be null and void, including the referendum
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

April 2005. Something must be done!

"Anybody who has sat through the case I have just tried and listened to evidence of electoral fraud that would disgrace a banana republic would find this statement surprising," he said.

The scandal in Birmingham threatens to undermine Britain's long-established reputation for trustworthy elections.

For several weeks, a special election court heard lurid allegations of postal votes being stolen and forged. Six councillors from Tony Blair's Labour Party denied wrongdoing.

According to petitions from supporters of rival parties, three of the councillors - Muhammad Afzal, Mohammed Islam and Mohammed Kazi - were found by the police in the middle of the night in a warehouse with hundreds of postal votes spread out on a table.

One of their lawyers admitted that might have looked suspicious...
