Though the logic is probably lost by those looking for dirt to throw. Politics is never a clean sport. Those entering should know to expect it to be dirty, so Leadsom is showing naivety to expect anything else.
You are aware Mrs May and her husband have not been "blessed with children" e.g are an infertile couple?

Leadsom is an openly practising Christian yet she shows no empathy and no compassion for those who aren't blessed like she is.

Her comments not only show she is inexperienced, as she could have refused to answer the question, but is a nasty person who also openly lies.

It is an utterly stunning failure from Leadsom, not only should she have expected the question to come at some point ( because it always comes now in parent against parentless political 2 horse contests ) and have prepared a decent reply but she could have seen it happening as it was going on and worked out a strategy. Add to that she is now on TV trying to back track while they are playing to audio of the interview.

But above that she has for the first time given the public the perception that May is an actual human with feelings, people for the first time will have an emotional connection with her where as she just looked like a terminator before.

Which is why she is favourite to win. Sometimes the Tory party can be really scummy.

May is a vicar's daughter. She hasn't come out either way about her belief or non-belief.

Some in the Tory party think religious belief is a private matter as long as you don't do a Corbyn.

Clearly must do as He has a habit of talking to odious politicians.

Leadsom supporters are saying The Times trapped her.

It's interesting the Murdoch papers don't like her.

"Bloody difficult woman" without children (due to infertility). A few more of those "accidental" remarks, and she can officially put on a halo and call herself saint.

It happened at Sky ("bloody difficult"), yes? Unlikely a politician that seasoned wouldn't have expected being filmed in a blippin studio. May turned that promptly around for her advantage ("country needs more bloody difficult women"). Smells like setup, looks like setup, probably is a setup. Sky Plc is owned by Murdoch via 21st Century Fox.

The Times had this interview where Leadsom made the remarks regarding May not having kids? Oh, coincidentally also Murdoch owned via News UK / News Corp.
Leadsom goes nuts on Twitter immediately after. #LeadsomFacts is trending. Everybody's having a go. Can almost feel sorry for her.

It's funny how everybody focusses on Leadsom, while you hear virtually nothing negative about May. Nobody actually knows what she really believes in or stands for. (I know what she doesn't believe in, and that's privacy... embodied by the IPBill.)
Doesn't matter though, as the scapegoat (Leadsom) has been pre-selected by the MPs to run against her. Also quite surprising just how much effort the media put into this, given that only the Tory members even get to vote.

Leadsom was never meant to win this, and she won't. (I don't care; both won't last longer as PM than 2020; campaigning starts in 3 years. Very limited opportunity to cause more harm than has already been done in such a short time.)

And she is an innocent inexperienced victim of setup by the media?

It's pathetic that only 2 candidates are given to party members to choose from - why there could not be ALL those who secured enough MPs??? Ah wait, I know why - this is to give full control for MPs to select the candidate they want to go through by choosing 2nd who won't have a chance.

This would have never happened in EU...

I was joking when I called May "Mother Theresa".

If Corbyn doesn't bugger off we will get a Conservative government with a strong majority.
