Conservative membership is £25 so no chance.Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostI wonder if Labour supporters will join Conservative party to vote her in as the PM.
They are still fuming over the 3£ voters who got Corbyn in as our leader.

And Clinton never inhaled.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostOne of May's supporters has said she was a reluctant remainer.
That is the problem I have with May, I don't know anything about what she stands for, I do fear this is a new Gordon Brown period in the making.Comment

It's freaking other people out as well...Originally posted by minestrone View PostI dunno, I suspect the more she opens her mouth the less likely she is to win.
It's the stupid self congratulatory smiles she gives after delivering punchlines in speeches, like a child after the first dump in the potty.
https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...peasant-revolt“I want to speak to the markets,” Leadsom smiled, with the air of someone who imagines you can negotiate with gravity. There was absolutely nothing to fear, she went on, smiling that smile again. Andrea Leadsom’s smile is terrifying. It is the smile of the school careers adviser telling you flatly that the school is looking for a night caretaker. It is a smile that is powered by the extinguishing of your future. You can’t escape Andrea’s smile. And it’ll certainly come for you if you try.Comment

Maybe like Bozo she never really thought she would win so it's a clever move to get further up the food chain in parliament, into a cabinet position. Just got to hope this time the voters have a clue what the real motivation is and don't go for a protest vote.
Highly likely Leadsome will be in the new cabinet if she's unsuccessful in the PM race, just so the remainers can say "look we've got your brexiteers in powerful roles even if the PM is not a brexiter".
Though it would mean Leadsome has no real chance of becoming PM in future as those Eton boys won't stand for two women PMs in quick succession. She entered the race when Bozo was still in the running and 'favourite' (god knows who with
), further backing the viewpoint she didn't intend winning this time but would have had a better chance of being next female PM in future after Bozo.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.Comment

Though the logic is probably lost by those looking for dirt to throw. Politics is never a clean sport. Those entering should know to expect it to be dirty, so Leadsom is showing naivety to expect anything else.
May's offer to sign a clean campaign pledge is
She'll just have others dishing the dirt on her behalf, all without her approval or knowledge of course.

I hope Andrea ends up as the next PM. If it's May and she does not deliver 'Full Brexit' There will be howls of anger and rage from the Leave camp. Let one of their own get in there, trigger article 50 at once, convince parliament to repeal the European communities act and then lead us to the promised sunny lands of economic prosperity. If the fears we remainers expressed do come to pass it should be a Leaver in charge to explain to the country why the promised sunny uplands have not quite materialized.Comment

Does that logic also apply to male MPs as well?Originally posted by Hobosapien View PostIn a way she's right. Parents have a vested interest in the long term for the sake of their children. It was this comment from Leadsom that really stood out as being insensitive:
I don't really know Theresa very well but I am sure she will be really really sad she doesn't have childrenComment
