Great win for what was labelled a pub team at the weekend. That's the Ukraine and Russia almost out in one afternoon. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

It's 'Ukraine' not 'The Ukraine'!Originally posted by LondonManc View PostGreat win for what was labelled a pub team at the weekend. That's the Ukraine and Russia almost out in one afternoon.
Stemmed from the Russian (and Slavic prolly) noun for 'borderland' or 'edge' 'край' as in 'Украина' i.e. implying it's the edge of the the Russian Imperial Empire that was. I think.
Russian (and Ukrainian) has no articles so there is no 'the' or 'a' which you might think makes it easier but in fact it makes it harder....
Full of shît today me, I've had three poos....Comment
