You're not seriously trying to suggest that the EU stopped the war? I think you may find that some of our friends in the, as yet unborn, EU were rather complicit in it.

The IRA? Do you remember our Basque friends supplying arms to them?

What about our French pals selling Exocets to the Agentines?

No country has a clear conscience.

People in Belfast don't ask you which 'side' you come from. It's far more subtle than that, like how you pronounce the letter 'h'. Even most people's name would be a total give away which is why you'll rarely get them to volunteer it.

The EU is not perfect, but at least it does something to preserve human rights, sometimes misguided, but at least it's an attempt to help anyone to a better life, a better existence by protecting what we are; human living beings. Economically and socially.

Look at what Westminster is giving us; scraping every last penny out of the disadvantaged, sending our Soldiers to fight pointless wars to face weapons this country and it's allies have sold to the other side, forcing severely disabled to work, extracting every last piece of dignity from ordinary working people.
Entirely supports my point about the British loathing leftie liberals wanting the UK to surrender itself to foreign powers because of guilt

It's not guilt. I'm a leftie but I know being a 100% leftie is unrealistic, some socialist ideologies don't work.

What happened that was then, but the fact remains the YouKay is not a power anymore, it's broke, there is no Great left in Britain, spent force, and let's face it, most of the World hates us because of this legacy. A lot of the World wants to get something back after what we stole.

So no Brexit nice kindly acts on tariffs etc from a UK-less EU I'm afraid...

Honestly, if you think the UK is this great economic power that can get into bed with whoever it likes then it's time for you to return to your home planet.

The cost of housing is an internal problem nadda to do with the EU. How is Scotland managed to keep house prices normal as well as it's population?
Have you missed what's happened in France recently? How many murdered? And why was that?

And how is the cost of housing nothing to do with the EU? If people are allowed to wonder in here as they wish then they will expect to live somewhere.

Scotland hasn't felt any real impact yet as it is less densely populated and no one wants to go there.

Lol. You make that sound like a bad thing.

Of course the French Empire was wonderful. And the Belgium Empire made truly outstanding contribution to Africa. Especially The Congo.

The Portuguese demonstrated exemplary behaviour in Angola and Brazil.

And why is Spanish spoken throughout South America? Is it an Inca language?

The Austro-Hungarians never put a foot wrong.

What about the good old Dutch? Peace, loving, fair minded, law abiding. No stains on their colonial past, the Boers.

In short. Every major European power, and most of the minor ones, have exploited other countries. It's not a uniquely English trait.

By keeping Scotland full of Scots, which tends to have something of a downward influence on demand.

I think you'll find Scotland is not the closed racist society as you suggest. Many people from all over the world come to live in Scotland and that's the way I'd rather it stay.
