I have just revceived a new contract for employment that states the employer can give me 2 weeks notice anytime during my contract, however I am unable to give notice and am obliged to work out the full term of my contract.
I am uncomforable with the fact that this doesn't offer equal rights to me as a contractor, can anyone adivse if this can be legally enforced?
2 weeks! Thats a luxury. I'm on 1 days notice from them but have to give a week myself.
The only time this is an arse is if they lie over the contract length (my contract has no length - verbally agreed as end Dec - nowt written).
Thanks for the feedback. Although based on the delivery I must be in the wrong forum. FC
This forum was designed for those who failed to be accepted as clowns in local circus: this is how scum like us get kept away from other proper forums like Accounting/Legal etc.
Sassy old boy. If you are going to be a contractor you are going to have to develop a thicker skin, that's just the way it is.
Most of us have endured such terms on contracts for years without any cause for concern, if you are good at what you do they will always want you around. Mostly more than you would like.
