Cushty Gigs

My former colleague just called me to announce he had landed the ultimate cushty gig.

Sail around the Caribbean performing offshore signal tests to verify roaming partners are meeting their SLAs.

FFS.

Please help me get over this with examples of better gigs.

Had an AIX guru mate worked for Jordan F1 when they were good, all over the World, fit birds, top drivers milling round, celebs everywhere, Lord knows what AIX could do in that environment but still.

I did a bit of work with McLaren in Woking when HP Openview was my thing. Used it for telemetrics. Went to a couple of test tracks & Silverstone, so I got a glimpse of what your mate had access to. lucky bastard.

*thinking about it AIX is was supported by Open View so your buddy may have been involved in taking advantage of AIX's FS to store vast amounts of data.

Last gig but one - always seemed to end up at same gig with this lass in the past, lovely girl, three years ago I got a two year one in fecking Farnborough, shiithole of Hants, she got similar in Antibes, still there, loving it...

I ******* hate Antibes. My boat wouldn't even qualify as a tender to a tender. Watching the girls in skorts, doing the jetty walk in the morning to try and get gigs on the Mega Yachts is fun. Hanging out with them at the 'Old Sailor' when they are completely pissed is also fun - but besides that I will pass.

Biot is nice and just up the road.

Just remembered there is that huge technology park Sophia Antipolis just outside of Antibes. Everyone is there, surely you could wangle a gig there?

It was the Sophia Antipolis thing - i'd no idea about it. She's happy, French bloked up, permie now. I had a few sniffs after the event in same area, Aix-en-Provence, ironic cos I'm an AIX guy, not Sophia Antipolis though, money was pathetic though.
