    I've met many Syrians over the years working in the ME & have found them to be largely urbane & well educated.

    Granted, these were all middle class Syrians though.

    Had a Syrian girlfriend for a while. A Christian. Family were from the Golan Heights.

    You should have heard her on Israel

        I think Malmo has had 40 grenade attacks this year by Turks, that never gets written about.

        A school shooting in the US and the UK's news channels get overloaded for a week.

          I hadn't heard about them, but you're right - there seems to have been loads there that just don't get the coverage. I guess it's because of the lower numbers of casualties, and the fact that they're not targeting kids specifically, but still quite shocking. Just did a quick search and didn't find the Turkish angle, however.

          I did find speculation that it was linked to the Serbian leader of one of the largest gangs in Malmo.
