Depends how desperate you are. They obviously think it's worth interviewing you again and from their point of view they are using their valuable time doing the interview. The complete shambles can often be the easy gigs, never get around to defining your role so you're safe from IR35, go off and do something you are interested in on their time while you wait for them to get their act together.

On the other hand, if you aren't desperate tell them they only get one chance at an interview so make an offer or lose out.

Sometimes for their own reasons the decision maker wants to hold off.

I interviewed someone for a role 5 weeks ago and I told him I'd make final decisions when I got back from holiday. I've already decided to give him the job, but I went off on vacation and having to do all of the paperwork / HR bollocks so he could onboard when I was away was frankly a pain in the arse. So I held off.

Suppose I'd better do it this week.

For me, both suggestions are equally likely (them being disorganized, Suity being second choice).

Maybe the budget got pulled, or the project has some other dependency that means it won't start for another month.

            He's used to sloppy seconds.
