I'm looking to dispose of the family mansion in Macclesfield - just outside the golden triangle of Alderley Edge/Wilmslow/ Prestbury but may as well be a million miles in terms of property values

Currently in consultation with the inept, clueless Cheshire East council about options for developing the site - letters from the architect unanswered since Jan

I like it up here. I have a forest across from my house and I live only 15 minutes walk from the football stadium. Its cheap and easy to live and plenty of free parking. Just wish BT would sort out the fibre...

We need better rail transport here between the cities definitely and probably better marketing of Manchester as a tech hub. And bus transport totally sucks and is a rip off. But enough of the moaning.

I'm sure a guy on £45k up here would live better than a guy down south on the same.

Heck my house can be had for £165,000 - 3bdrm, drive, big garden, quiet cul-de-sac.

      Would I move south...nope.

I've been for a while. spoken to friends and relatives and mostly I find that it's cool for a while but you get tired of it and unless you have the "right" job, you can find yourself stretched each month, especially if you have kids in childcare.

That's all very well, but it does mean your surrounded by dirty thick Northerners. The further North you go, the dumber people get.

I suppose I'll have to explain that to the guys next door that build fighter jets.
