Game over for Labour

Because the tories just say the deficit is going down and people don't have a clue what the difference is. -
The Tories did this. Cameron only ever did a few day visits, flying in on an RAF plane and back out again. The rest of the time it was Labour who fronted the No campaign backed by the Tory donor's money. That's why they've become toxic in Scotland too.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI am sure there are enough self loathing liberals to keep labour in the hunt plus lots of class warriors in the North. To be fair to the Tories they could have kept their heads down in the scottish Independence debate knowing that labour and SNP MPs would be out of the equation come the next election.
Labour canditates in Scotland have even asked Ed Miliband to stay away during the election campaign as he is seen as a worse leader than Cameron, and that is saying something. Labour people on the doorsteps are saying to people "Would you rather have David Cameron or a Labour government after the election?" so not even mentioning Miliband by name.Comment

I do love this 1930's relic the FPTP. It means that the SNP are going to get representation *way* beyond their 4 or 5 % British vote share.
Anyway to the people who really know what they're on about........

Exactly. It was only the old Labour voters frightened for their pensions who swung it for No.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostIf the Tories had been all over Scotland the yes vote would have wonComment

Labour cannot reprimand the Tories on debt because it'd have to show it had a credible alternative that it'd implement. I very much doubt they would do any different, and possibly could've done worse, with even more money printing and borrowing. They do not have any fresh ideas, just more of the same Neo-Keynesian garbage the Tories adhere to, albeit in an attenuated form, so challenging the Tories on this won't do them much good, plus their plans to reduce indebtedness are tepid and impractical by comparison. Not that I perceive these as legitimate debts, just viewing this from their lens.
As for immigration, why would anyone vote for them on this issue when they're burying their heads in the sand? Irrespective of whether it is on net beneficial or not, voter perceptions are what count. UKIP is tearing away votes from both these buffoon parties, unfortunately the FPP system means this may make little difference other than forcing them to rethink their apathetic stance and policies, as all 3 'major' parties already have.Comment

If you're talking about Labour supporters, they are on the left of the Tories but right of centre according to the latest policy mappings.Comment
