Yet again, you can't string two bits of a cohesive argument together.

    1. You continually state that the UK 'makes bugger all' from oil but now it's so huge it would have turned the economy into a basket case.

    2. It would have made bugger all difference as Scotland would not have been declared independent until 2016 anyway, so we would be in exactly the same position as we are now.

Seriously, how can a conservative voter be so vitriolic about another party destroying labour in the GE ? Will that not get you exactly what you want ?

I am afraid I'll have to give it a miss as I've got much more interesting things to do with my time.

Labour Burns Supper axed due to lack of interest:

One political opponent said Labour activists’ lack of interest in a fundraising event so close to the general election was bad news for the party.

He said: “You sometimes wonder if the polls exaggerate Labour’s plight in Scotland.

“But it shows the dire state the party is in when something like this, where leading lights are due to speak, has to be cancelled because of lack of interest.

“It suggests that even in an election year, the party cannot enthuse its own members.

“And of course, it means they will have less money for what is a crucial campaign for them.”

Tsk. Poor organisation from the Red branch of The Party. Surely they could've invited a few of their new chums from the blue branch to join them?
I mean, a snug in one of the bars in Rose Street can hold eight or ten people. Enough space for the Bitter togethers to have some bitter together? Or do they still call it 'heavy' up there?

I don't know how many times I have to post this image of Scotland's finances...

As an economic entity we are useless and England has propped us up for decades.

What saddens me more than the demise of Scotland is not that we have lost great thinkers but that we have 45 % of the population that just cannot add and subtract.

We gave the modern world so much, people think of scots as Engineers but we gave birth to the financial system, now look at us, embarrassing.

              Are you one of them?

I was told that Scotland has the lowest start up rate in the UK last year and lowest success rate of the start ups. I could not resolve that but I must take it on as fact.

So speak to any in the health profession in the world and they know about the Glasgow coma scale, speak to any Engineer in the world and they know who Watt, Napier and Bell are, speak to any Architect in the world and they will know who Greek Thompson was, speak to any writer any they know who Burns is, speak to anyone in finance and they know who Smith is. Any designer will know Mackintosh. Livingston mapped Africa and Rae mapped Canada, Higgs has something named after him and dolly the sheep the first cloned mammal was done here after Fleming discovered penicillin.

At every point in the world and at any time you can refer back to a Scottish person, from science, medicine, art, literature, finance, architecture, genetics, maths and engineering there was a Scott making a pivotal moment. I am immensely proud of that, as Churchill said "Of all the small nations of this earth, perhaps only the ancient Greeks surpass the Scots in their contribution to mankind"

What do we have now? Some badly manicured politician constantly telling us that we can't get on because of England. We did all the above in Britain.

I hate the SNP with a vigorous passion.

And if you were not aware of Greek Thompson this was my old school.

Frank Lloyd Wright had a lot to say about this place...

Can you post a link to any story where anyone from the SNP blamed England or the English for anything?

                      No, thought not.

The whole point of independence is self determination. Being pro-Scottish does not make anyone anti-English.
