At least you manage to get an interview. Evey job I apply for evaporates! The same happens for their roles I've applied for in Leeds!Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostJust based on a couple of interviews I have had. Didn't say I knew everything about the place.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Does seem to be a common occurrence. The other strange thing is that they usually have delay before an interview - I usually have several offers lined up by the time I actually get to an interview with them.Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostAt least you manage to get an interview. That happened to me here on this role. I'd had my CV sent to them for a role in London. In the time between it being submitted I'd applied for numerous other roles, Been interviewed for 2, offered 2, started 1 and was already into my 3rd week of the job. They have to realise that good contractors don't stay available for long. The pimp said this happens all the time. The only thing I can think is that perhaps they are putting out the job request while scouring the Bobs to see if they can get a cheaper one in. Then if they can't they go back to the people who responded and interview those who are still available. Because my skillset is relitively accessible then I'm guessing that there are plenty of Bobs who know plenty Access VBA Excel and can do it for plenty cheepness. Resulting in no need for them to go to the list of contractors who applied.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostDoes seem to be a common occurrence. agreed
agreed, they have a policy of wasting peoples timeOriginally posted by BoredBloke View PostHad confirmation from the agency that this role died. She said it happens all the time. LBG put out a job spec, there is a flurry of activity where the various agents source CV's. These get put onto their portal and nothing.........until the job is pulled. I suspect that they are using this to baseline the rates Contractors are asking for.
They were looking for Excel & Access VBA with some Sharepoint and Business Objects - All of which I had done and backed up with the last 4 years working for banks. I also went in at the bottom of their rate range to ensure that I was as competative as possible. Still didn't get an interview. I think I'll just stop applying as its a waste of everbodies time.Comment
