As a PM, having managed numerous projects and also being APMP and PRINCE2 qualified, I can honestly say that I have never used PRINCE2 on any of my projects, it is just one of those things that companies add to the essential criteria for PMs. My advice if you have no PM experience do the APMP course it will at least give you an overview of how to manage projects.

Just to slightly hijack this thread.....
A gig I am looking at insists on having the APM (level C/D) qualification. I am already prince 2 qualified and have seen that there is a course for Prince 2 holders to get the APM qualification.
Has anyone here done that course? and if so what does it entail?
ThanksComment

Wouldn't bother, most gigs will accepts either (even if they specify one), most job specs are generic and in reality only looking for PM certificates to get rid of those who think they can manage projects but have little to back it upOriginally posted by chalced View PostJust to slightly hijack this thread.....
