Typical public sector .So they change it and one assumes one reason would be to improve efficiency of the process yet now it's taking 5 months or whatever instead of the usual four weeks?

I know of someone who went through a renewal recently and it took about 5 months. Apparently an extension can be applied to your expired clearance if you're already at client co. You should not be pulled off site if your SC expired because any extension that has been put into the system for has not yet come through, apparently.

.....and probably why also a lot more agents been stating 'must have SC clearance' again recently, which I believe I've noticed.

Still waiting since October for mine. Was told it would take a month but a new botched process is causing the hold up.

Been told to wait possibly 6 months but have started the gig.
