COntracting is a bit of a 'gamble' I'm afraid.

In the current market especially I would advise always keeping your options open until the contract is signed and your bum is on the chair

While I would personally do the same - it's also worth remembering that something is only libellous if it's untrue. There are some extreme exceptions, but as close to 0% chance of being successful for something like this.

Just make sure that anything stated is factual (and you have the evidence to back that up).

I don't think you're missing out on B-tFair. I had a interview for a BA role, that transpired to be a role to author a manual for some freebie content management system they downloaded and had got the dev team there tweek. Cheap skates.

a) They should have advertised for a technical author

b) My potential boss interviewing should have had more experience in the industry as opposed to none

c) I shouldn't have been grilled by 2 developers about my hardcore coding experience when it was very clear that I was previously a BA/PM, not a developer.

So a company learning how to be a company as they go along. You just know when you walk out of companies like that there's something just wrong.

Well I had a written contract to start at a bank here in Sydney two weeks ago - packed up everything in NZ, handed in my notice (I was on a rolling weeks notice), had my farewell drinks etc etc etc, flight booked for Sunday morning to come to Sydney.

Agent txts me that last friday night at 11pm - client has pulled the contract!

So I'm here anyway, technically I guess on the bench now, but there are plenty of roles on offer so in the meantime I'm having a Summer holiday.
