The generic advice these days is exclude.

However, if you're under 30, include. If you're over 40, exclude. In between, you have plenty of time to retrain into another industry with a future.

Exclude, no point giving some agent a potential reason to round file your CV.

Exclude if you are going for a role in the UK.

Include if you are going for a role outside the UK.

Reason - Equality bill in UK mean that agents and employers are not allowed openly to ask your age. Instead they will use your education dates as a guide line to work out your age. (If your education dates make you appear younger when you are over 40, you look it and the role suits you then it's a win for you.)

The EU directive on equality means that other European countries have interpreted age discrimination differently so they can ask your DOB.

To protect my own data, just the year. I can understand if someone anticipates a problem with their age to a potential client why they'd omit any mention of it.

Never been asked for a reference in squillions of years of contracting so no point. DOB no longer necessary so don't include. No pictures either - being ugly shouldn't debar you from working IMHO

                'References available on request'

Has never been questioned at all and only about 50% employers have asked for the references.

Put referee details on your CV and I garauntee 90% of rec consultants will speak to them directly before they even call you.

                  Leave them off.

I put a link to my linked in profile

                    REFERENCES

                    Available at http://blahblah

I think this serves 2 purposes.

                    1) I can actually give them references from loads of clients and they can read them directly online.
                    2) They don't get a phone number or email address of a previous client to harass. They also can't ask for contact details under woolly pretences to get a reference as they already have the reference (see 1).

I usually give my LinkedIn profile URL in reference section. If they bother, they can have a look there and check how many recommenedations I have received. It also ensures that my experience is not fake [especially if you have reasonable recommendation from previous companies]
