    Yeah, I'd like to know the motives of the agent too too, that is 30 mins of their work day without any sniff of commission on anything.

      The agent needs to look busy and there is always a small chance of a deal if talking to a client or candidate. More so than doing nothing.

      Long ago as a grad recruit, I worked for a tight ass department that 'saved' money by not using rec agencies. Good candidate CV's were binned just because they were sent by agencies. They ended up wasting $000's on ads in publications and took on some right duffers - the type looking for a retirement job and pension at the end of it.
