Certain bad habits die hard. That one is something I chose to leave on my CV... have been tempted to remove it, but as it is not taking up valuable space, I have left it on there. So far nobody has told me to remove it.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostOut of interest why have you two who have links to your CV put "References Available On Request"?If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

All the advice I have received regarding doing my CV (even as a contractor) indicated that having this detail is better in the long run. It sometimes add to the weight of getting some types of jobs.Originally posted by mrdonuts View Postget rid of the tupe bit, you worked for cap gemini, let the client work out that they got you wether they wanted you or notIf your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

looks like i will need to spend some time tomorrow and reword most of it. Lots of good advice here and I will take it all on board.
As soon as I have spent a couple of hours tomorrow (footies on now and can't be bothered tonight) I will repost it for more feedback, hopefully it will be better.
By the way, the reason I put in the TUPE bit was because it then makes sense about transitioning in the contract to cap. I'm sure some well thought out words will still allow me to say this without the word tupeComment

well, here it is

reposted updated cv.
It took a lot longer than i thought, but between the scrathing my now bald head, flicking between the discovery channels, and asking my wife to read it for me, I've managed to scrape together another cv. Pmeswani, thanks for your cv, used some of the formatting even thought you can't tell, something to do with the way the application saves the uploaded cv.
All views welcome..................fingers crossed.Comment

You are applying for 4 roles per night ?
if the ad comes on at 11:00 am, you need to be applying at 11:05 then following up with a phone call at 11:30.
good luck

Get rid of the word "Professional" from Professional Employment, unless you plan to show any voluntary work.
Under the years of experience.... increase the font size for the number of years / months to be the same size as the skill itself. Making it smaller means you have something to hide and will be easily missed.
I would personally get rid of the 3 bullet points under Project Management. It can be assumed that you know how to do those stuff.
Under the professional experience.... As you have worked in Cap Gemini as a Project Manager, you don't need to put a date stamp and restate your occupation and employer details on every new task. If you get asked to break it down, then you can give specifics.

The agent will want to get all cv's to the client by mid afternoon, use the time between 8am and 12.00pm to find the newly posted roles and apply.Comment

thanks for the advice pmeswani, changes made and republished. Do you think this is now good enough to be able to apply for jobs or is it a matter of go for it and see what happens??
1 other thing, how do you know when a new job has been advertised? As there are so many sites, its a pain in the backside trying to go through them all.Comment
