Lots of agents say I have a good CV with good company names on it so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Just a waiting game, I guess.

If the jobs in Telford were with EDS, you've got little chance of getting the role unless you've previously worked for EDS. Its a catch 22 situation.

I know for a fact that EDS tend to use the same contractors for different roles. One girl I know who is a contractor virtually has no other clients except EDS.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I worked for EDS as a permie, am not able to secure a contract with them.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

I'm still getting calls at the moment so seems to be ok to me (I'm not counting the ones asking for leads)

(I too was permie for 10 years - would never go back to them - unless the rate was right of course )

Testing has always been a strange market - in my last few roles I have helped the test managers with recruitment and yes the quality of CV's coming through have veen very poor. Going by the names on the CV can only assume agencies are trying to pass off people they can get the biggest margin on

Most of the testers I've met are pretty slow...

To be honest... it's a blessing in disguise. Can never go back... especially after how I was treated.

Surely they cannot be worse that Atos?

50 hours mid-week, plus travel time (2 hours each way), plus weekend working causing me to hit the rumble strips was not enough for the management there.

Which is why I left and started contracting.
