first post and all that. I was until just recently a contractor. Now I find myself in the situation whereby I'm creating a startup in South of France.
I don't know about you , but I nearly have always had a bad taste in my mouth when dealing with agencies (there a some ok ones to be fair). I'd rather not go through any agencies - any suggestions how I can find people such as yourself? I presume I can't put posting on here or other dev forum sites as its against the rule (though I can't find any).
So any ideas how I can go about find some talented motivated bods who want to move to the sun?

why dont you simply advertise on jobserve yourself? and may I suggest that hiring a member of this board may be a big mistake

thanks for your thoughts and sorry for not getting back here quicker - things have been very hetic at this stage.
For those you might be interested in a 6 month contract around the Cannes on the rivieria please do contact me - I know I can't use PM here at the moment. Not sure if admins will let me do this but I'll try : contactmehere999 at gmail dot com.

Essentially I'm looking for java based technologies and experience - however graduates would be considered as well. email me for more info.

Regarding remote working - I am still considering it if I cannot find the right people for this. However I've worked on a project like that in the past and its more difficult to coordinate things, and to be honest I've personally found it more social/fun to be working with people in the same office, as sitting at home for 6 months can be a bit odd after a while - it suites some people but not everyone. However I really want to use Agile/XP methodology to develop this and you really need to be in the same room for that.
