    Re: this one ?

ISP business is rather tulipty thing, stay away from it, especially in light of very few people having WiFi cards.

      Easy? don't think so....

I have not looked at the products you found, but figure that 1/2 a day is a bit ambitious. Most users of the WLAN system would want to do it from their room, so you can't just activate the lobby.

We implemented a wireless system for a hotel in the Isle of Man, and it was not that easy.

OK, business ADSL feed easy enough, just make sure the user agreement allows the selling on of services to use that line.

Then the APs. For a 85 bedroomed hotel, over 5 floors, we needed 16 Access Points. These places are pretty heavy regulated by the authorities, so you are likely to find that they are full of steel, airconditioning ducts, and plain old walls.

The fun bit is getting the power to the place where you need to plug in an AP. That needs a sparky, and they are few and far between these days.

You then get idiots with Powerbooks ringing up saying the Internet don't work, and you find they don't have a WLAN card. Then there are the NT users, and the guys who decide to nick the loan cards, and the machines that crash when they install the loan card...I could go on...

Other than that, great idea, count me in!

Another one is to dump kiosks around the place. BT Line, ADSL Modem and about £1200 for a tamper proof (yeah right) box. You plug it in, and collect the pound coins.

Again, all the good spots are gone, some bleeder got there first, but there are still a few around.

BT are already doing it - a tenner a month for 120 minutes...

As i deal with the major hotel chains and know several IT directors, i can tell you that this idea is readily available in many hotels and chains.
Also as I was at Hostec (the technology part of Hotelymipa) in Excel,- last week of Feb-, I can tell you there are quite a few companies offering this facility and I wish you well, but it is a well covered market place.

            Howdy UKseeka, how's it going?

Do you have your call charges on your site yet?

I might consider your service if I knew how much I was being charged.

Also, will those 2 hotels I'd get sent have rooms available? I'd be well p1ssed off if I called them and they were fully booked...:x
