    Re: NeverBeLate

In principle seems a good idea, but to my cynical eye it looks like those "indispensable" kitchen gadgets that end up gathering dust in the cupboard, ie better means already exist. Why can't you simply write the dates in your diary, paper or electronic?

I get a reminder from the good 'ol BBC - but then I watch too much telly.....

Nto sure I'm too keen on the idea - I think it needs to be more along the lines of....

Event XXX is coming up - here is company YYY that can organise a ZZZ

A concierge service - but for businesses?

You could spread out and look at company events such as the annual christmas party or AGM event - that sort of thing. All I would say though is not to offer too much too soon - you might bet out of your depth and not offer a quality service

        Hi

        Roger rabbit you said
Why can't you simply write the dates in your diary, paper or electronic?

        1) Dates and things change. For example the tax free christmas party has gone up from £75 to £150 per head. This has been added to the reminder factsheet you receive. There are even links to the Inland Revenue website so you can confirm the information for yourself. Remember this service is free of charge for the subscriber. So even if the service does "end up gathering dust in the cupboard" does it really matter?

I don't think the BBC will remind you to pay your corporation tax or send your CT-600. But if they do please point me in the right direction so I can check it out.

Mmmmm sounds like a good idea. I will look into it.

          Dear DimPrawn

I have found a provider for you that you pre buy the SMS and then send them when you want. Prices start at 2p but for people like us they cost 5p + vat.

          www.messages.tv/

And while I am at it here are some other SMS providers

          www.redrock.co.uk/
          www.mblox.com/products/economy.asp

free of charge? where's the revenue?

Ok, so it's free of charge to the subscriber.
              1. Where does your revenue come from? Who pays you to keep yourself in beer, fags and porn?
              2. How big is the potential market? (not big, I suspect)
              3. How established are your competitors?
              4. How easy is it for new entrants to take your market share?

Re: free of charge? where's the revenue?

My worry would be that once I came to rely on the service, because it's free, it could be switched off with no notice and no comebacks.

I once subscribed to a free Internet based file backup service and got to rely on it. After a while, they started sending emails demanding monthly payments to stop them deleting my files.

Adverts added to end of emails.
Chargeable SMS reminder service. (Available soon)

                  Size of Market
3.1 million businesses in the UK

                  Competitors

You said "My worry would be that once I came to rely on the service, because it's free, it could be switched off with no notice and no comebacks."

I can support the service indefinately. It costs me about £130 per month to run. Last week I got 39 new customers (not including the weekend). I also use the system and would be lost without it.

You said "I once subscribed to a free Internet based file backup service and got to rely on it. After a while, they started sending emails demanding monthly payments to stop them deleting my files"

I promise that I will not delete your files.
