Towards the end of a recent interview, after all the techie questions, the young HR girl present came in with some of those trendy questions that I always find pretty useless (and in this case I must admit my concentration wasn't helped by her low-cut top and impressive cleavage). The only one I remember was: "Tell me 3 words your colleagues would use to describe you."
I kept a straight face and responded with the kind of words I thought she wanted to hear, but it did seem rather irrelevant to the job.Comment

HR people are the most pointless people on the planet.
They are extraordinarily unaware of this. This is proof of how stupid they are. I don't think people like that should be allowed out on their own. They remind me of religious people.

Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

If you have eastern european second name as well, no wonder then.Originally posted by Viktor View PostHad 2 telephone interviews yesterday, both went on fine, except that at the end of first one I got two questions, completely unrelated to the technical / normal stuff questions you get on the phone.
The first one was "Where are you from?" and the second was "For how long have you been in the UK?"
I must admit that I was milliseconds away of a response like "I'm from planet Pluto" and "I count time in Alpha Centauri years, so 10 millenniums for me..." but for the sake of the professional aspect I declined to give to the tw@t what he should have received...
And the interview was for a British blue-chip, not some 10 people company...
So what stupid questions have you got at interviews in general?
Viktor

Agreed. I recently read an article in a major business magazine that described most companies' HR departments as "an employee-irritating nuisance." That sums it up nicely.Originally posted by shoes View PostHR people are the most pointless people on the planet.Comment
