Hi to the OP and good luck on your first contract, and in response to the above post i'm an agent and i think the point is well made. Whilst we all try to be ethical theres a good possability that if the agent had someone cheaper and they got to keep the margin they would flush you out the air lock in a heart beat. I learnt long ago that trying to be nice to some people gets you walked all over so i'd go with whatever contract you want mate, you will annoy the other agent but just feed him the line about having a cheaper contractor and the fact he's drop you, he'll have no response.

      Hi all,

Thank you very much for the comments and to reformation to for his honesty!

To let you all know, I spoke to the agency for contract A and explained that I had been offered a more local highing paying role and would be stupid to turn it down.. I blamed it on my contracting naievity.

Shock, horror, she was really understanding and said she would have done the same in my position too ( a weeding to pay for in August)... so contract B it is, A say they are gutted but relationship with them seems fine!

      Everyone's a winner baby!!

Sounds like a result!! - although if you kept on top of the garden on a regular basis the weeding might not be as expensive
