So in summary Certification suitably impresses the spotty teenage Agency oik who has the job of doing the first cut of CVs and possibly has a Stage 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy. It then gets put forward to a hiring manager at the client company who would be more impressed by 30 years hands on experience with SQL Server (yes, I know) and is deeply suspicious of qualifications when his graduate intake can't spell, can't add up, and don't know anything without googling it.Comment

Haven't you seen the adverts yet where they want say 6 years of a technology when the technology, including alpha phrase, has only been out for 3 and only used commercially by first adopters for 18 months?"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Back to certifications. I find a few too many companies now require you to pay for course as well.
I. E. No more buy the book pay £200 for the exam. Now it's £1000s for course first.
As a contractor this is a waste of money IMHO.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

If I work in a company and need to pay for a certification making sure that is going to be useful and gain experience after the certification, in this case I think its good investment.Comment
