I did many years in IB.

No credit check and no criminal record check either (as far as I know).

I should add that permies get it all, always fresh marigolds in the interviewer’s desk. There was a 'handwriting' test I remember at one.

I did a stint at Goldman Sachs, no checks that I remember. I found it a pretty odd place to work but pretty lucrative if you can stick it out and do what you are told at all times.

I've been credit checked for all my contracts at the following places,

          JP Morgan,
          UBS,
ING (and drug tested, blood taken and analysed)
          RBOS,
          Morgan Stanley

I think they are only really bovered if you had been bankrupt to be honest, CCJ's might be an issue as well.

Never would I agree to a drugs test. I don't take them, but that's beyond the pale IMO.

Drugs test I wasnt happy with that either at all, thought it was very personel and intrusive. I asked them what they would do if I refused to take the test, they said I would have to explain to HR why I wouldnt.

They did the test in the front of me had to p*ss in a cup and then they put a couple of bits of card in it, one for the wacky backy, one for the poppie stuff, then the white stuff and then tablets. I was ok but was worried about passive inhalation though of the
Then even analysed my blood got full report back one of the statements in was there was evidence I was a large consumer of booze which I defiantly aint.

Oh yeah and this was for a role in Human Resources IT ..... aahhhh lots of nice dutch ladies

Anyway that was 4 years ago dont know if its the same score now. The b*tch of it though was there Dutch staff werent tested like that.
