Someone with a less obvious Twitter account really should reply to @DavidGauke "Such is the control of the Germans, they now decide to show off the skills of their keeper"
My reply would be:
"Come on David wheel out the #HMRC time machine for the Brazil team"Comment

Ingenious has been writing to its investors warning them that the settlement offer, thought to reduce bills by 40 per cent, may not be open for long.
It believes the offer will end once tax demand notices are issued.
Pardon??

And there's more with George Michael, Michael Caine...
Taking a £1 billion Liberty | The Times
I haven't read the whole article as no way am I paying for that rag. But you got to admire HMRC's timing on this - one day after we get a favourable debate in Parliament.
Of course, if they don't go retro on this "Liberty" scheme that they claim is one of Britain's most aggressive tax avoidance schemes, then surely that opens up a discrimination claim for us?Last edited by SantaClaus; 8 July 2014, 23:16.'Orwell's 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual'. -

There's a bit of a PR spin war starting up, I hope.
HMRC wants to trawl a YEAR of your bank statements | Mail Online
You'd almost think someone has pissed off 65,000 people. 526 comments at the moment, and it wasn't us this time! Quite a lot of angry people starting to jab their fingers at HMRC. Good.Last edited by OnYourBikeGB; 8 July 2014, 23:50.Comment

Yeah, I had to laugh at the rapist loan shark.
("Tax avoiders are BAD PEOPLE", got it yet?!)
I also feel they stopped just short of throwing a couple paedophile politicians into the mix for maximum effect...but hey, that may have created a conflict of.interests or something.
The timing is perfect - must be urgent to distract the plebs from other current affairs with a good bout of good old rich vs poor "divide and conquer" tactics.Last edited by DotasScandal; 9 July 2014, 00:03.Comment
