They rejigged the order so we are on later.

      Steve Baker

Leaving s58 aside for a moment, it's refreshing to see an MP's website give the philosophical background to their positions and use it as a portal for further learning.

I note he was marked out as one of the Tories 10 most rebellious MPs... is this man the exception to the oxymoron "a principled politician?"

In laymans terms (I am of simple folk) what does this mean. If this is the last day of the committee stage of the Finance Bill, are we saying if the retrospective action stays in, is that GAME OVER do not pass go etc etc

No, lots to do afterwards, even if it is not debated.

It's definitely refreshing to see a politician stand by his principles. I wish the same could be said of Gauke.

              I'm not sure either.
Does he mean the high principle of no tollerance on tax avoidance meets the reality of our messy and unpleasant behaviour or the high principle of fairness meets the HMRC's unpleasant conduct?

I need that Phillip J. Fry image for this one.

so if they run out of time does that just means it tough and it never gets talked about even though it was tabled
? that seems a tad unfair

whatever it means i cant quite understand why he would be looking to move the amendment before they have even debated it today. Hey ho....

Baker just raised a point saying he was keen to move things along to avoid NC1 being talked out. Someone else stated that it was the government's request to move NC4 before NC1.
