Yes but the HMRC bullies know they can get away with this sort of crap because you need very deep pockets to take them to court.

It's only the likes of Montpelier or a multi-millionaire like Gaines-Cooper who can take the bastards on.

With due respect Montp are doing very little now. Going to Europe is beyond the call of duty and will take years and will not stop HMRC collecting.

Its NTRT between us and hell now.

Agreed, although Montp have said they will defend us in the tax courts as well.

As for Europe, this still needs to get over the initial hurdle of the application being accepted, which is far from certain.

Got reply to invite back from Mr Afriyie of Windsor. Still not interested, not even an offer to send a researcher. He's tough nut to crack, given the responses I've seen in this thread from other MPs. Must have a touch of the Gauketivitis real bad.

Usual palava about 'UK has the right to tax their residents where ever their income arises'. However the opening stanza did say 'You are not alone in your concerns' so some info must be filtering through the barricade.

Scanned letter across to Ben@Whitehouse, completed survey and put some more money in the NTRT pot.

Good stuff NTRT. We'd be all-at-sea without you lot. But some did make it off the Titanic.

Only 6 survived out of the water; the other 750 or so were in the lifeboats...

Maybe we should have a website of HMRC's most lying tax inspectors?
Interesting (as someone in the comments section noted) that the author is anonymous.

We're almost living in a communist state when a government organisation can write their own article and get it published!

No response from our MP as yet. Just sent an 11th hour chaser email.

Likewise! I'd always assumed that the Rule of Law was one of life's Absolutes. It's virtually hard-coded into the collective psyche, isn't it?

been on that path for several years... banks owned and controlled by the state, cameras everywhere, internet is monitored, authorities all powerfull to do whatever they want, the police are now politicised, Zero privacy and the state bigger than ever.

Does anyone have any experience of negotiating a settlement with HMRC? Is it a case of contacting Mr Brannigan?
You must pay up complete with interest and NI. Dont get Branigan at all, you'd think it was in HMRC's interest to bring this to a conclusion but there is just zero coming from them. Maybe they've backed themselves into a corner but it seems a crazy position to take

What's the is the point of Europe then if it won't stop the collection? If Monty is vidicated out in Brussels or where ever in 5 years or so, can we expect a refund? - there's some sort of 6-7 year cut-off for that. Or is Europe just an attempt to restore Montpelier's name in the tax planning good books?
