    Hi everyone,

Many thanks for the advice - you've given me a clearer picture of things now.

I found some extra relevant information in the following link:
Can I beat IR35 by being a sole trader? CUK05 :: Contractor UK

Awaiting confirmation that the company, whom I'm dealing with direct, are ok with using me as a sole-trader for the first couple of months before I set up a limited company.

    Thanks again!

      And how do they work?

Am I right? Is the onshore partner taxed in his country of residence and if not is he taxed in the host country only based on his share, given that the LP is fiscally tranparent?

I think it depends whether or not you want to go contracting long term. As others have said. most (all) agents will need you to be ltd or umbrella. So if this job is a one off, go for it. If you're intending making contracting a long term thing, it may be worth at least considering the other options now.
