A book deal
Someone suggested to me that this whole sorry affair would make for a rather good fiction novel. It might run to a few thousand pages to cover 21 years though. Or not maybe. After all you can cover the period from 1987 to 2007 with "just watching the game, having a Bud" then the final Chapter can be called "Wazzzzup!".
There could even be a good name for the book "BN66 - The Pad-it out-more Legislation"

Late October 2007
If anyone received a letter from HMRC in this period asking them if you would be prepared to await the decision of the Commissioners to settle your enquiry please PM me. Please also let me have the name of the HMRC officer on the letter. I'm most interested in dates after 20th October 2007.
Alternatively, our friends at HMRC could just PM me the count as they know what they sent and when. They could even add 'why' to the reply...Comment

Reply from my MP
I finally got a reply, after over a month, that he would be asking the Chancellor of my concerns.
This is good as lately most people got reply from DG so it should be interesting to get a reply from GO. However, I want to write to my MP to also consider GO's double stance on telling Indian Govmt not to use 'clarification' and go 'retrospective' whereas he is doing exactly the same at home!
Can someone give me pointers on exactly how/what to write to my MP, please? I think it needs to be a very brief as they do not have good concentration span! May be someone can PM me.
ThanksComment

Hold fire
Before sending any further correspondence to your MP on this, please hold fire for a few days. A lot of feedback can be distilled into a condensed and focussed next step.Comment
