Go find the largest black chap you can and call him one. You will see.Originally posted by MailmanSince when has *** been a racist term?
You poms...actually...is the word pom a racist word?
Mailman
Pom is probably racist, but most of us don't care. We have got over it.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Mailman, I told you not to use racist words, you persisted and even edited your post to continue using a term that myself and other board members objected to. We will not tolerate racist behavior and therefore you are banned and this ban will not be lifted.
If you do not think the term is racist then I do suggest you follow the advice above, find the biggest black bloke you can and call him it.
Either that or try searching the internet and see what the rest of the world thinks.
If something is added to the censorship filter it is for a reason.
It gives me no pleasure to ban a long standing contributor to the forum but I cannot abide racism - even worse, ignorant racism.
And no, pom is not a racist term - apparently.Comment

Feck.... the Antipodean is no more

Will you also ban Sandy Down for her blatant anti English racism - I find it objectionable and distastefulOriginally posted by administratorMailman, I told you not to use racist words, you persisted and even edited your post to continue using a term that myself and other board members objected to. So you are using a Scottish publication as an authority on what does or does not constitute racism towards the English - you are aware how this looks - can we have some English moderators for balance pleaseOriginally posted by administratorAnd no, pom is not a racist term - apparently. How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Is she trying to be a smart arse and get around the banned word filters? If so show me examples and i will happily ban her. No one has messaged the administrators to complain of the language she has used as is the case with the words Mailman was using. I warned him and he went against that. I will state once more only, racist name calling will get you banned. If we say a word is racist then don't use it. If you want to discuss it then fair enough but being cocky and trying to get around the censorship filter will get you banned.Originally posted by TrollWill you also ban Sandy Down for her blatant anti English racism - I find it objectionable and distasteful
There were other references I found, that was just the first one I copied.Originally posted by TrollSo you are using a Scottish publication as an authority on what does or does not constitute racism towards the English
This is not so much about the words that were used, more the going against what we had said was acceptable. This was arrogant and rude and this is what brought the banning stick out, not solely the use of the word.

I have reviewed Mailman's ban and, under the influence of Cider and a bit more research I have un-banned him.
The term that has now been added to the censorship filter seems to be bandied about by our antipodean cousins without the racist connotations it has here and the severity of its use was not really considered.
Trying to bypass the filter was a bit silly but in hindsight did not really warrant a complete ban.
We did have several complaints regarding the use of the word but even without these complaints I still would have taken the same action as I personally find it offensive and this is why it was added to the filter.
A message to all. Please play nicely, respect the filter, respect other nationalities and respect the rules of the board.Comment
