    Silent Noes

Where did the other No voters suddenly come from? They didn't contribute to the debate at all, all the voices except Jane Kennedy were clearly in dissent raising perfectly valid points even without JK's lies, but then *bosh* a 'Noes' majority vote.

Oh hang on, they're all NL stoogies. So that's how democracy works.....

So at least we have a list of names of those who voted NO to the amendment now.

I have added a few of those to MY list of names** and underlined those that already existed (in RED crayon)

** MY list of names is purely for future reference and was not created for any nefarious or sinister purpose

Even this is not true. HMRC sat back and watched the scheme grow year on year. In fact, as HMRC's own figures show, the highest rate of growth occurred in the earlier years.

Tax Year........Filing Date......Number of Returns......Year on Year Growth
          2001/02............Jan-03.............229................................ N/A
          2002/03............Jan-04.............428................................ 87%
          2003/04............Jan-05.............759................................ 77%
          2004/05............Jan-06.............838................................ 10%
          2005/06............Jan-07.............935................................ 12%

PS. only in the public sector could you get away with being this useless, inept and incompetent

Tax cheats to be named and shamed

            http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/mon...cle7049518.ece

Evade, dodge, cheat. What does it mean?

Timms: "It is only right that people pay their fair share of tax"

HMRC: "taxpayers who know they have not paid enough tax"

In the past, there was a clear distinction between avoidance and evasion but now it's all blurred.

Left to their own devices, HMRC will abuse this "name and shame" legislation.

DR, I remember when this idea first came up and the concern was that by publishing such names HMRC would be in breach of Human Rights. Let's hope so.

Maybe they left it a few years to run up the figures so that the torches and pitchforks brigade would scream in indignation and allow them to go after more targets.

well think about it, its a great way of getting more money than they would have if they had told us from the start, this way they get the money oweed and all that extra interest earned
