Great stuff!!!

Keep those letters coming. Let's make them aware of the real hardship this could cause many families.

Sarah Ludford MEP (European Justice & Human Rights spokeswoman)

Had a leaflet drop through my door from my local MEP, Sarah Ludford. Apparently, she is the European Justice & Human Rights spokeswoman.
How handy!

Penned another letter, winging its way now to her door.

Nice reply from Jeremy Corbyn MP

Just got a reply from my Labour MP, Jeremy Corbyn.

Appears to be very on-side. From my experience of writing to Mr Corbyn, I know he is one of the few MPs that does "walk the talk".

He's written a letter to Yvette Cooper, Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
He has also asked me if I want him to raise this issue in parliament and went so far as to say that he could take up my case with HMRC if I wanted.

David Cameron is my MP!

I have just written to him - basically stating the facts as displayed in the other letters sent, in my own words and my own opinions. I asked what, as a party, the Conservatives could, and would do, to support the JR and generally lobby against the Government in this.

This is the third letter I have sent to him, the first he personally replied to (paper - wet ink signature), before the Committee stage,stating the Conservatives would oppose, the second after the vote he just sent an acknowledgement card. So *hopefully* he should be aware of this topic by now.

I'll post his response - hopefully it'll be worth posting!

Reply received

Received the following reply from my MP (Conservative) over the weekend:

================================================== =====

Dear xxx,

Thank you for your recent letter regarding the retrospective changes to the tax laws in this year's budget.

These changes to tax legislation have affected many people throughout the country and I agree with you that they were ill-conceived and are potentially unlawful.

You will be pleased to know that I have raised this issue with the Chancellor, Alastair Darling. I will contact you again as soon as I receive a substantive response.

================================================== =====

If anyone hasn't written to their MP yet please do so as soon as possible.

This is my first post since receiving an anonymous referal to the site. I must say, with Montpelier rushed off their feet, knowing all this information is out there is very reassuring!!

I've just written to my local Tory MP asking for his support.
