In my experience, the FRS works like this.

    1. Fill out the application form.
    2. Send off application form.
    3. Wait....

    Nearly 2 months now .
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Well good luck... you're in for a bit of a wait.

I've been waiting over 4 months now for my VAT (+ FRS) registration.

Getting more and more annoyed by the day as I've not been paid in 6 months now, due to a combination of HMRC holding things up / useless accountant and useless HR people at work giving me incorrect information.

Are you already vat registered? If so just ring the VAT office and they will put you on the FRS over the 'phone.

They will take your application over the phone. They are currently processing FRS applications from mid-June!

Are you sure? I shall try that as a last resort when the quarter is nearly up.

As far as I am aware you cannot jump the queue. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know :-)

I think the queue is to get VAT registration in the first place. Once done, swap onto the FRS is a phone call - or so I've read in previous threads!

Yep, if you are already VAT registered then ring them up and they will put you on the FRS scheme starting in your current quarter.

As stated above, the delays are for registration, not for transferring onto flat rate.
