    Another interesting debate that goes to show many areas of what can be claimed are seldom very clear.

    With regards to Sat Nav claims my view is that unless your role involved regular travel to many different and new sites then the claim would not be allowable.

    Having said that, the prices are so low now that a review by HMRC would probaly ignore it unless they were having a bad day!

      Don't forget that Sat Nav is not just a case of plan route a to b, as was pointed out with the technology to pre-empt traffic problems and re-route where required, somebody who has a "time" dependant role could justify that in order to arrive at site in a timely manner they require this functionality as part of their business even though the travel is to the same site each day.

      as well as this any contractor could be expected to attend a numner of interviews on behalf of the compnay over a 12 month period - having Sat Nav on those occasions could well represent the difference between winning and losing a contract - again all business benefit...

          I know but to be fair, I agree with them on 99% of the advice they give. I think there are only 2 or 3 issues on which we have disagreed. I just don't see the point in posting to say "Good point. I agree."
