or stick to local guys who i have no recommendations for!

do people on here choose their accountants local or find it easy to use if say they lived 200 miles away and used email/faxes etc to get there documents back and forth?

maybe's as an additional question, what do people pay a month for their accountant?
I have an accountant very local to where I live, and I find it easy to drop paper work off. They also stay a open a little later if I need an appointment. The fees are a little higher than SJD at 95/month, but it nice to support a local friendly firm

i use a local family firm. Only a few on the books which means i get plenty of attention. Don't pay monthly how ever i simply get a bill come the end of the year they have estimated for Filling Accounts, quartely VAT and PAYE, SA and handling any post £600 pa.

I though this was really good all i have to do is my book keeping which isn't that much work about 10 mins a week for me.

I have only met with them once and that was as an introduction to each other. I explained that i will probably be working away from home quite alot and said not a problem they can do everything via post or e-mail or phone.
Thats the way the cookie crumbles
