I sacked RBS, loads of hastle opening the acount, sod all interest and constant attempts to charge for things when its 'free banking'. Cater Allen, easy to open, good service and 3+% interest, internet banking would be nice ! -
They've been working on it for the last 5 years.Originally posted by gingerjediApparently they are working on it, life would be a lot easier if they did.
I don’t know how long as I have only just sent the forms off myself, I think I heard someone say about 2 weeks.

nope. Unless you pay in cash over the counter or write lots of cheques every month etc, most will remain free. HSBC does anyway.Originally posted by tim123for the first year only.

I prefer to bank online anyway and I also have the direct-line phone number and email address of my branch business manager should I need anything else.Comment

I have to say that I had occasion to complain to Cater Allen yesterday in writing as they seem to have stuffed up the transfer of my existing direct debits to my new Cater Allen account.
Twice I've sent the account switching form back in their own SAE and twice they have claimed not to have received it. I spoke to them last week, told them about the urgency and could they send out yet another form (as there's no invoices being paid into my old account). It hadn't arrived after 7 days so I dashed off a complaint....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

I've got to agree with the others about Cater Allen's telephone staff - they are very good indeed. I ring them loads of times about my own and clients accounts and NEVER yet been left hanging on the phone in queues - always a human answers in seconds and almost without fail they can deal properly (and first time) with whatever you want doing. Like all banks, there is the occasional hiccup but what constantly impresses me with Cater Allen is that they accept a mistake AND put it right straight away without having to put you through to other people. And, no, this isn't via a special telephone number - it is the normal number printed on their website and cheque books, etc. Customer service really is second to none.Comment

Online Banking
The lack of internet banking seems to be major concern to all, and understandably so. I spoke to one of the directors last year who assured me that it would be available in Feb 2007....clearly not the case!
I've just dropped an email to our sales director contact to clarify the position, will keep you posted. He's on holiday until tomorrow so hopefully will have some news then!Comment

Bank Accounts
Had a reply back from Cater Allan this morning........
Quote - "I do have some good news on this actually! We are now doing internal pilots on this and all seems to be going well. We hope to start rolling out to our existing clients from May. As this will be a phased roll out we have decided to prioritise our Contractor Account introducers and as such, your clients will be one of the first to receive this service."
So shouldn't be long now!!Comment
