    Re: Re:Compensation

This thread is becoming so funny. It seems like it was the ************ accountant who kept this charge a secret. I was told a few month ago that SJD wanted to charge for this. Not particularly happy about it, but at least they were up front and honest about it.
You will notice we were upfront and honest about the charge our accountant is proposing planetit and it will cost us in the long run. We will also go to some effort to publicise the easiest method of avoiding the charges by doing your own return. It seems a shame that SJD clients were not so community spirited, especially as Simon let you guys know about the charges way back in October.

Does anyone remember Andy White from the PCG. Fiddle and I had a battle royal with him on this forum about 3 years ago. He eventually 'left' the PCG but not before members had paid him and his girlfriend huge amounts of money for dubious services via their respective companies - Fiddle and I weren't even members at the time, just worried about how the PCG could end IR35 when its great leader was making so much money out of its continuance

The world is full of selfish, greedy and stupid people
Sorry did I say 'the world' - what I really meant was 'my world'

      Re: I quite agree...

Fair enough on needing a compatible payroll system. I would have thought though for any to remain in business they would need to offer this compatibilty. I see that the 2003-2004 list is much larger than the 2004-2005 list but presumably those in the first will end up being certified and added to the second in plenty of time for the 2005 year end.

      Compatible online filing software packages

It seems that most of the problem was in getting the clients registered which is rather concerning. I have used the registration system for personal online assessment filing twice (once for me once for the cosec) recently and it was fast and easy with no glitches and I got the security stuff back well inside a week. Let's hope that this bodes well for the many thousands of registrations they will have to process for the £825 bribe.

All I can say is do it now because if it doesn't get done it is you that will lose out.

        Re: I quite agree...

WellWoodHoyle - I am sorry to hear about all the problems you have had with the online PAYE and pleased that you are another accountant who has decided not to charge your clients.

Whilst I am sympathetic to your problems it is clear from the Revenue site that this whole procedure can be carried out online with none of the associated problems you seem to have encountered. We are after all discussing a registration process here where online processing puts the onus on the Revenue to post pin numbers to clients and agency codes to accountants. If these are being lost there are serious security issues and the whole system will fall over in a heap !!

Whilst we are on the subject of charging for this service perhaps Simon Dolan from SJD would like to tell me if new clients are informed that in addition to their monthly fee they will be expected to pay out £125 + VAT to register for online PAYE. Do you advertise this on your website Simon or is this something they are told after they have signed up ?

          Re: Re:Compensation

OK, I’ll try to do better on the community spirit front. Looking at today’s post bag, here are the important things companies are telling me that you need to know.

Capitol One are offering me a great deal on a credit card.
Egg are offering fabulous rates on personal loans.
Lloyds can save me a fortune on home insurance
DFS are having an amazing sale on sofas.

          HTH.

            Re: Re:Compensation

Gotta admit that was an amusing if idiotic reply

Maybe you'd be interested in some of the emails I get - I can forward them to you if you like or maybe just register you to get them direct.

            BTW
There'd be no charge for registering you.

On a more serious matter - I've been looking for the FBI1 form on the IR website and there doesn't seem to be one. I did find the FBI2 form though which seems to be the one for postal registration of contractor companies against their agent for PAYE.

I must say that it does not appear to be a particularly complex form to complete. I'm obviously in the wrong business - I wish I could charge £100+ for filling one of those in when I had all the details in front of me in a client file.

              they tried to ban me!!

i got banned...not quite sure for what? for starting a heated discussion maybe :rollin :rollin

anyway, i'm back (not sure for how long) under a different name!

Simon - you do have a flip side don't you. Dont like it when people question SJD?

You could do it your self for free? or you could go to an accountant who will save you the time, and do it for you...for FREE.

              you know who!
