MTM IR35 Scheme

CTD's take a pretty pessimistic view in that if the tax planning is effective you have effectively locked money away for a long time at a very low rate of interest (i.e. by buying them you a implicitely assuming that the planning will fail) They only really come into their own if the revenue attack the scheme successfully. Understandably Montpelier wouldn't want to recommend these - their view was and is that the tax planning is effective.Comment

Chaps, MTM are useless when it comes to communication, hence why I left the scheme a while back. I do however forward on copies of any HMRC contact - but never hear anything. With the last letter I emailed them I asked for advise - but still have not heard anything.
I feel on my own now with this and contacted HMRC myself. They were very helpful and did confirm that I would receive my money back if their plans go up in smoke, as they have not right to retain it.Comment

The vulture is...
Found out who the vulture of that website is.. simply by using the "Who Is" website.

Funny thing is that this vulture company is based very near to where the HMRC Special Compliance Office is based. Seems like they have some pals at HMRC who are probably drinking buddies... Must be slime.. why would they try to hide their names if they didn't have anything to hide!
The story is designed to scare people.Comment
