    Bookkeeping tool

I am doing my bookkeeping with Xero but not that good, what is the best resource for help with my bookkeeping?

Whats wrong with Xero - what does it not do or is hard to do?

I use Freeagent for invoicing, accounting and book keeping - could not be easier. Even has a mobile phone app for logging expenses, photographing receipts/documents etc.

+1 for freeagent. Xero is good but is better for "normal" businesses. Freeagent is designed for contractors and freelancers. And, it'll be cheaper. Especially if you tie on with a freeagent accountant.

        Freeagent

+1 as Alan says, good product and supported by a number of accountants.

              Freeagent

Or get an accountant that includes it within their package.

Used Freeagent for my first year as a contractor (no accountant) and found it very easy to use.
Although it wasn't much help when it came to my end of year accounts!

Since discovered DIY Accounting spreadsheets, not recommended for a beginner but at least it helps you with you at the end of your financial year. Very cheap though and a great resource if you are just experimenting.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with above products, just find them excellent tools to use if you want to do your own bookkeeping.

                  FreeAgent

+1 for FreeAgent. I agree with Alan that Xero is better for slightly bigger businesses, but FreeAgent is great for contractors!
